Caring for your doors

Our doors are designed to give years of pleasure. To help maintain their beauty, we recommend following these guidelines.
timber & veneer doors
These doors should be cared for in the same way as a piece of quality furniture. Under normal circumstances timber and veneer doors can be cleaned with a clean, slightly damp, non-abrasive cloth. It is recommended that any cooking splashes are wiped off immediately.
For more persistent soiling, a mild solution (not exceeding 5%) of non-abrasive household detergent and lukewarm water should be used. Diluted sugar soap may also be used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Once cleaned, the door should be wiped over with a damp cloth to remove any excess and finally dried with a soft, clean cloth.
Solvent or abrasive cleaning solutions should be avoided as they will damage the surface of the door. The use of a good quality wax-based polish will further enhance the appearance of the door.
high gloss doors
Most marks can be removed using a clean, soft damp cloth. More persistent marks can be removed using a solution of 50% methylated spirits with 50% lukewarm water. Once cleaned, the door should be wiped over with a damp cloth to remove any excess and finally dried with a soft, clean cloth. Solvent or abrasive cleaning solutions should be avoided as they will damage the surface of the door.
